Walking on a long golden stretch of golden sand with the wind in your hair and the cool waters at your feet can do wonders to your state of mind. The steady crashing of the waves calms restless thoughts and offers a reassurance that everything is going to be fine no matter how fierce and frightful your situation is.
India is home to many beautiful beaches, most of them filled to capacity in the evenings with kids and adults all vying to indulge in its wondrous magic. If you want to break away from all the noise and relax in a quiet remote getaway, Bhogwe Beach in Vengurla, Maharashtra is one worth checking out.
Bhogwe Beach lies quite close to the noisy and touristy Tarkarli beach but the Karli backwaters acts as a brilliant firewall separating the two beaches and keeping away the crowds, chaos and noise on the other side. For its part, Bhogwe revels in its clean, pristine white sands with swaying green palms and white foamy waves completing its picture perfect look.
The perfectly calm waters of the beach may look inviting, but you need to watch out for the tiny crabs and rocks if you decide to take a swim. The beach is also a great spot to catch dolphins. If you happen to take up residence in one of the nearby resorts, such as the Leela’s Bamboo Houses & Water Sports, you can enjoy watersports activities such as parasailing, snorkeling, jetskiing boating on the backwaters of Bhogwe, or fishing.
Nearby attractions at Bhogwe are aplenty. The Nivati Fort built during Shivaji’s reign lies in ruins, but the view from the top is exhilarating. The Nivati Beach is quite small but its beautiful blue waters invite you to linger just a little bit longer. Further south lies the Kondura Beach which appears like a little island cut off from the rest of the world and you can also take a small hike to the shrine that was apparently build by the Pandavas called the Panch Pandav Shivling Mandir.
There are many tiny beaches surrounding Bhogwe and you could take a boat trip to explore all of these remote shores. Exploring these many tiny remote beaches around Bhogwe will make you feel like you’re the first person to ever set foot on these shores and you can blame you!
